Newz Fast, New Delhi: After farming, farmers are making huge profits by making animal husbandry their business. The government offers many schemes for livestock farmers. Pashu Kisan Credit Card Scheme has been started by the Government of India for all the livestock farmers.

Farmers can use this card to meet the requirements of animal husbandry and fisheries. The farmers of cow, goat, buffalo, poultry and fish farming will get the benefit of this card.

Under this scheme, the government gives loans up to Rs 3 lakh to the cattle owners. No guarantee is required for loans up to Rs 1.6 lakh.

The government gives a loan of Rs 60,000 for a buffalo, Rs 40,000 for a cow, Rs 720 for a chicken and Rs 4000 for a sheep/goat. Banks or financial institutions provide loans to Pashu Kisan Credit Card holders at only 4%.

Loans are given to livestock farmers in 6 equal installments. Farmers have to repay this loan within 5 years. Generally, banks give loans to farmers at an interest rate of 7 percent, but in the case of Pashu Kisan Credit Card, animal farmers get a rebate of 3 percent from the government.

Veterinarians can also use this card as a debit card. At the same time, farmers are saved from moneylenders and they do not have to mortgage their land or other property.

How can I apply for the card

You have to first go to your nearest bank for this. You will get an application form from the bank. This form has to be filled and submitted. Along with this, you will also have to submit some documents for KYC.

If you cannot go to the bank then you can also fill this form online by visiting any CSC center. After filling your form, the documents will be verified and if you are eligible then you will get your Kisan Credit Card within 15 days.

Which documents are required?

For Pashu Kisan Credit Card, farmer's Aadhaar card, PAN card, cattle health certificate, farmer's voter ID, bank account, land documents and passport size photograph will be required.
