In fact, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has said that the state government has decided to increase the upper age limit for the recruitment of police constables from 27 years to 30 years.

He said that it has also been decided to give relaxation in age and physical criteria to the relatives of policemen in appointment on compassionate grounds.

He also announced that civil volunteers, village police, home guards, civil defense personnel will be entitled for promotion to constable posts and they have been given relaxation in the upper age limit up to 35 years.

The contract car drivers of Kolkata Police used to get 11 thousand 500 rupees. Now this salary has been increased to 13 thousand 500 rupees. The car contract drivers of the state police used to get Rs 13 thousand 500. That salary has been increased to 15 thousand rupees.

Contractual drivers will get special privileges on appearing in the permanent job examination. Kolkata Police and State Police wireless operators have not been promoted for a long time. This is a special opportunity for his promotion.

Opportunities for promotion from Constable to Assistant Sub-Inspector, from Assistant Sub-Inspector to Sub-Inspector. ACP and DCP of Kolkata Police will get Rs 15,000 annually as uniform allowance or clothing allowance.

Police SI, ASI and constables used to get uniform kits till now. From the next financial year, Uniform Allowance Inspector will get Rs 10 thousand, Sub Inspector will get Rs 7500, Assistant Sub Inspector will get Rs 6000 and constable will get Rs 5000.
