Paddy Purchase: So far 55 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased in Haryana, maximum arrival in Kurukshetra

Newz Fast, New Delhi: Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala said that this time in the history of Haryana, the procurement of paddy is going smoothly, which is commendable.
He said that the cooperation of departmental officers and farmers has played a special role in this. The Deputy CM was presiding over a meeting of the officers of the Food and Supplies Department at his office here on Wednesday.
He reviewed in detail about the district wise arrival, purchase, payment etc. related to paddy crop in the meeting.
Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala was informed in the meeting that 210 mandis were opened for paddy procurement in the 'Kharif procurement season 2022-23' in which 55,10,156 metric tonnes of paddy have been procured till November 1, 2022.
In this, Food and Supplies Department has procured 50 percent, Hafed 30 percent, Food Corporation of India five percent and Haryana Warehousing Corporation has procured 15 percent paddy.
As far as district wise paddy procurement is concerned, the said agencies have procured the maximum number of 11,75,378 MT in Kurukshetra district and 10,85,575 MT in Karnal district.
The Deputy Chief Minister told in the meeting that this time the farmers did not face any problem in the sale and payment of paddy. He informed that the lifting process of paddy in the mandis has also been done on time.
