PSU Banks New Branches: 300 new branches of SBI and Bank of Baroda will open here, know government's plan here
Newz Fast, New Delhi: 38 branches of public sector banks will be opened in Gujarat, 33 in Maharashtra, 32 in Jharkhand and 31 in UP. Bank of Baroda will open 76 branches and State Bank of India 60 branches in these areas.
The government's plan is to provide banking facilities to the people in every corner of the country. Under this, public sector banks will open about 300 branches by December 2022 in rural areas of different states under the Financial Inclusion Campaign, where banking service has not yet reached.
These branches will be opened in such villages, where the population is more than 3,000.
Most branches will open in Rajasthan
On the basis of information received from the sources, it was told that new branches will be opened in all the villages which have remained untouched by the banking service till now. Maximum 95 branches will be opened in Rajasthan and 54 branches in Madhya Pradesh.

Preparing to sell stake in IDBI Bank
On the other hand, the government plans to sell its stake in IDBI Bank. For this, bids can be invited till the end of September. According to sources, talks on this with RBI are in the final stage.
Some issues need to be discussed with RBI and SEBI. Let us tell you that at present the government's stake in IDBI Bank is 45.48%. Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) holds 49.24% stake in it.
