Newz Fast, New Delhi: Unseasonal rains have caused trouble to the farmers in many parts of the country. This rain has ruined the crops of the farmers. In such a situation, schemes are being run by the government to deal with this loss situation for the farmers.

Damage due to unseasonal rain

Meanwhile, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said crops have been damaged due to unseasonal rains and the government is waiting for information from the states to assess the damage.

Tomar said, “Definitely, crops have been damaged due to unseasonal rains. The survey is underway and we are waiting for information from the states to assess the extent of the damage.

Compensation will be given

He said that farmers are dependent on monsoon, which is unpredictable. He said that despite all the measures, farmers are dependent on nature.
He said that the State Governments have State Disaster Relief Fund which they can use to provide compensation to the farmers. After due process of assessing the extent of crop damage, more amount will be released from the National Disaster Relief Fund.

Start sowing

He said that the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for Rabi crops would be announced soon. According to the data released by the Ministry of Agriculture, sowing of Rabi crops, especially oilseeds and pulses has started across the country.

So far, about 7.34 lakh hectares of land has been sown. Wheat is the main rabi crop but the sowing data from the states is yet to be received.
