Newz Fast, New Delhi: Many schemes are being run by the government for the betterment of the people. If you have opened Jan Dhan account then this news is of your use.

The money related to the schemes is directly transferred from the government to the account of Jan Dhan account holders.

Union Tourism Minister Kishan Reddy informed that so far Rs 25 lakh crore has been distributed to the beneficiaries through the accounts opened under the Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana.

Online opening of 75 digital banking units

Speaking to the media in Jangaon on the occasion of the online inauguration of 75 digital banking units on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Reddy said that under various welfare schemes and subsidies, funds are sent to the beneficiaries through these accounts. These 50 crore people- Half of the wealth accounts belong to women.

Rs 1.75 lakh crore in Jan Dhan bank accounts of poor

He said, 'While opening Jan Dhan accounts, people were raising questions whether it is needed in our country?

Today we have distributed 25 lakh crore rupees for welfare schemes to poor people through Jan-Dhan accounts. It is an achievement. Reddy said that today Rs 1.75 lakh crore is deposited in the Jan Dhan bank accounts of the poor.

75 DBU dedicated to the nation

Earlier two Digital Banking Units (DBUs) of Karnataka Bank started functioning. PM Modi dedicated 75 DBUs of various banks to the nation. These include both these DBUs of Karnataka Bank.

DBUs will operate in an efficient, paperless, secure, connected environment where they will provide banking goods and services to the consumers in both self-service and assistance (digital) mode.

Apart from this, DBUs will also promote financial inclusion and digital banking literacy in the respective district.

MS Mahabaleshwar, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chairman of the bank said in a function that it is a matter of pride that the bank has been selected to open two DBUs. He said that it is a special honor as the bank is entering its centenary year.
