What is auto start/stop feature

This feature is also called idle start/stop. Maruti Suzuki is being offered in all its vehicles including Brezza, Ciaz, Belano, Dzire and Ertiga.

The Idle-Start-Stop feature shuts down the engine when the vehicle is idling for 5-10 seconds.

To understand in simple language, if you apply the brakes on the traffic light, then the engine of the car stops automatically after stopping for a few seconds. This is called the idle position.

As long as you keep on applying the brakes, the engine will stop. As soon as you take off the brakes, the engine will automatically start and the vehicle will start running. In this way a lot of fuel is saved and you get better mileage.

However, many people also get upset with this feature. For such people, there is also a button to turn off this feature.

This button is located on the right side of the steering in Maruti cars. A is written on it. From here you can turn off auto start/stop. However, once the vehicle is turned off, it also turns itself on when it is restarted.
