Ayodhya Diwali: 18 lakh diyas will be lit in Ayodhya today, Prime Minister Modi will participate in Deepotsav

Newz Fast, New Delhi: A grand Deepotsav will be celebrated on Diwali in Ayodhya, UP. During this 18 lakh earthen lamps will be lit. During the ceremony, fireworks, laser show and Ramlila will also be staged.

Navdeep Rinwa, Divisional Commissioner of Ayodhya Division, said that more than 15 lakh diyas will be lit by more than 22,000 volunteers at Ram ki Paidi. The rest of the diyas will be lit at important intersections and places, the official said.

A large number of people reached Ram ki Paidi on Saturday evening to see the Deepotsav. The earthen lamps kept there have not been lit yet. To save earthen lamps from damage, volunteers were seen urging the public to tread carefully.

This will be a grand program

In the evening, the excited youth were busy taking selfies on Ram's foot in the background of earthen lamps and uploading the same on their social media accounts.

Rinwa said that apart from lighting the lamps, there will be laser show, 3D projection mapping, fireworks and cultural teams from other countries and states will also stage Ramlila.

"Avatar Swaroop God (incarnations of Lord Rama, Goddess Sita, Lord Lakshman and Lord Hanuman) will descend from 'Pushpak Viman' at Ram Katha Park and there will also be an aarti of river Saryu on the occasion," he said.

New clothes stitched for Lord Rama

He said that a total of 18 lakh diyas are likely to be lit in the district on the day of the festival. Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of the Ram temple, said, 'October 23 being a Sunday, Ram Lalla will be seen wearing a red-pink dress.

UP CM Yogi did this tweet

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had said in a tweet on Friday, “Shri Ayodhya ji is ready for the grand and divine Deepotsav – you are all welcome.

Jayshree Ram." Aditya Nath also shared the new logo of 'Deepotsav' Ayodhya 2022 in a tweet. Mahant Raju Das of Hanumangarhi temple said that preparations are going on for a grand and divine Deepotsav in Ayodhya.

Ayodhya Mayor Rishikesh Upadhyay also expressed similar views. Upadhyay said that the entire city is ready to welcome the people coming to see the Diwali festival from different parts of the country and the world.

PMO released PM's schedule

The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) on Friday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Ayodhya on the eve of Diwali on Sunday and perform 'darshan' and 'pujan' at the Ram temple.

According to the statement, he will worship Ramlala Virajman. PM Modi will also review the ongoing development works in the Ramjanmabhoomi pilgrimage area.

It said that the Prime Minister will perform a "coronation" of Lord Ram at around 6.45 pm and after that he will also perform aarti at the new ghat built on the banks of the Saryu river and participate in the Deepotsav celebrations.

Five animated tableaux and eleven Ramlila tableaux from different states will also be displayed during the Deepotsav.

The Prime Minister will also witness a grand musical laser show as well as a '3-D Holographic Projection Mapping Show' at Ram ki Paidi on the banks of river Saryu.
