Mani Ratnam's recently released film (Ponniyin Selvan-1) has broken all records in terms of earning at the box office within three days. There was a slight drop for the film on Saturday, after which the film performed tremendously at the box office on its third day.

Adorned with actors like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Vikram, Jayam Ravi and Trisha, the film earned Rs 202.87 crore at the worldwide box office within three days.

Along with the best box office collection, this film 'Ponniyin Selvan 1' has also left behind superstar Kamal Haasan's 'Vikram'. At the same time, this film proved to be a milestone for Tamil cinema.

Trade analyst Manobala Vijaybalan shared the film's statistics (including ticket price and entertainment tax) from around the world on Monday morning. He tweeted and wrote '#Ponniynselvan WW Box Office enters Elite ₹200 CR club in just 3 days. Day 1 - ₹ 78.29 Cr Day 2 - ₹ 60.16 Cr Day 3 - ₹ 64.42 Cr Total - ₹ 202.87 Cr.

Along with this, he also shared that 'This Mani Ratnam film made in Tamil Nadu earned Rs 22.51 crore on Day 3, taking its collection to Rs 69.71 crore'. After PS-I crossed the Rs 100 crore mark worldwide, actor Karthi also wrote a very emotional post for the film's cast and the rest of the team.

He wrote in his post, 'I cannot express my experience and wonderful journey in any words. First and foremost, a big salute and all due respect to Amar Kali for creating this magical epic, Ponniyin Selvan'. Along with this, he also thanked all the co-stars and the producer-director of the film.

The Mani Ratnam film revolves around the political unrest in the Chola states, based on the works of Kalki, a 1955 historical book. The first part of the film has been released. At the same time, fans are now waiting for the release of its second part, which is expected to be released next year in 2023.
