According to the rate released on the India Bullion Association (https://ibjarates.com), the price of 24 carat gold fell by Rs 427 to Rs 50871 per 10 grams in the bullion market on Thursday.

However, silver saw a rise and it is trading at Rs 56583 with a gain of Rs 134 per kg. According to the website, 23 carat gold was seen at Rs 50667 per 10 grams, 22 carat gold at Rs 46598 per 10 grams and 20 carat gold at Rs 38153 per 10 grams.

Rate of gold and silver on MCX

Gold and silver rates were also seen trading with green marks on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) on Thursday afternoon. At around 2 pm, gold rose 0.36 percent to Rs 50,683.

At the same time, the price of silver was seen with a jump of 0.80 percent at Rs 57,177 per kg. Let us tell you that 3% GST has to be paid apart from the rate of IBJA.

How to identify purity

Before going to buy gold, you need to know the purity. 999 will be written on 24 carat purity gold. 995 is written on 23 carat gold and 916 on 22 carat. 750 is written on 18 carat while 585 is written on 14 carat. Silver with 999 purity is considered the purest.
